Risk Management/How to trade
When to Trade & A+ Setups
One of the most overlooked parts of trading is knowing when to trade. Markets move 24 hours a day, but not all hours — or setups — are created equal. Successful traders focus only on high-probability opportunities, often called A+ setups.
When to Trade
London Session (8AM–11AM GMT) – High liquidity and volatility, especially in Forex and Gold.
New York Session (1PM–4PM GMT) – Strong moves as U.S. markets open; ideal for continuation or reversals.
Avoid Dead Hours – Late Asian session or after New York close often lack momentum.
News Events – Major economic releases (like NFP, CPI, FOMC) create powerful opportunities but require strict risk control.
What Makes an A+ Setup?
An A+ setup is a trade that aligns with multiple confluences:
✅ Clear market structure (trend or liquidity sweep).
✅ Entry at a key level (support, resistance, order block, or FVG).
✅ Confirmation during a high-probability session (London or New York).
✅ Strong risk-to-reward ratio (minimum 1:2).
✅ Matches your trading plan — not forced, not random.
If all conditions align, the setup is worth taking. If not, staying out is the smarter choice.
Example: A+ Gold Setup (XAUUSD)
Liquidity Sweep – Gold spikes below London lows, taking out stop losses.
Displacement – Price sharply reverses upward, showing institutional buying.
Entry Zone – Retest of a bullish order block or fair value gap.
Trade Management – Stop loss below the low, target the next liquidity pool above.
This setup is timed with sessions and confirmed by ICT concepts, making it an A+ trade.
